How does REAL CHANGE happen in our lives?

What does the Bible say about change? There seem to be several constants in life. One of them is that change will happen. We tend to fear change, and we can become anxious about change because we do not feel in control. God has a plan for our life that includes healing from the past, hope for the future, and abundant life today. If we learn to trust in God and allow change to grow us, we will become more like Jesus Christ. We are promised that all things will work together for good for those who love Him and keep His commandments (Romans 8:28)! God is always with us, for us and in us, guiding us.

By the Power of Prayer: Prayer that God will heal and be with us! Heal our wounds, hurt, and pain!

Matthew 18:19-20 says, “When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.”

By the Power of God’s Word: Put into your mind the Word of God and let the Word transform and change and heal us!

Hebrews 4:12-13 says, “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.”

By the Transforming Power of the Holy Spirit: we have available to us the most powerful force in all the universe; it raises people from the dead!

John 14:15-17, “If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world at large cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you do because he lives with you now and later will be in you.”

Remember that we are MADE NEW in Jesus!

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”

God does not just repair; He renews. He does not just fix things; He is the Creator of new things! God is our Creator, not our fixer! Jesus has a very personal message for you: I am about to do a brand-new thing! Let go of the past. Don’t dwell on what’s behind you. The Lord is about to accomplish something completely new, a brand-new thing!

Isaiah 43:18-19, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
