Rosh Hashanah
Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to the children of Israel, saying: In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a Sabbath rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.

Abiding in the Lord: Transformed
We are transformed and do not have to fight battles alone
Numbers 10:1-9 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you shall make them of hammered work; you shall use them for calling the assembly and for directing the movement of the camps…
(9) When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.
We are transformed from an empty vessel to a vessel with God’s life in us
Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
YHVH
Yod – Hey – Vav – Hey
Yahweh
The Name of God is Connected to Breath!
Life requires Breath!
In the Bible breath and Spirit are connected:
ruach (Hebrew)
pneuma (Greek)
Ezekiel 36:26-27 And I will give you a new heart with new and right desires, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony heart of sin and give you a new, obedient heart.  And I will put my Spirit (ruach) in you so you will obey my laws and do whatever I command.
We are transformed to trust God!
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths
Our God is the faithful God; God calls us to trust Him at all times, in the tough times!
Are we willing to trust Jesus and give up and lay up our passions and priorities before the Lord? What do you love more than life itself? What has the Lord given you?  Are you ready to lay it on the altar?
A test of faith: Are we willing to trust God with what is personal and significant
Genesis 22:6-9 Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together…
Genesis 22:10-17 Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.  But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, Abraham! Abraham! Here I am, he replied. Do not lay a hand on the boy, he said. Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son. Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided…
Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.
We are transformed so God will never leave us and God will never forsake us!
Hebrews 13:5-6 For God has said, I will never fail you. I will never forsake you. That is why we can say with confidence; The Lord is my helper, so I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
Psalm 18:1-3 I love you, LORD; you are my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the strength of my salvation, and my stronghold.  I will call on the LORD, who is worthy of praise, for He saves me from my enemies.
