Re-Engage and Change It Is Never Too Late
Bible Text: Romans 12 | Pastor: Pastor Steve | Series: Engage: Do All In The Name Of The Lord Jesus
In Jesus we are changed primarily by:
the Holy Spirit
the Word of God
one another, community
Change
Ephesians 4:20-32 …there must be a spiritual renewal of your thoughts and attitudes. You must display a new nature because you are a new person, created in God’s likeness — righteous, holy, and true.
Change The Way You Think!
Romans 12:2-3 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.
God’s Truth Is Absolute
John 8:31-32 You are truly my disciples if you keep obeying my teachings.
Our Relationship With God Is Private And Public
Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Our Commonalities Create Our Community
Ephesians 1:22-23 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.
We are growing smaller and larger at the same time!
There Is No Miracle Like The Miracle Of A Changed Life
Ezekiel 18:31-32 Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies, says the Lord GOD. Therefore, turn and live!
Salvation
If you believe in Jesus and receive Jesus and follow Jesus as your Lord, your sins will be forgiven (with confession and repentance) and you can stand before God’s Holiness and receive Eternal Life
Colossians 1:21-22 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation (2 Peter 3:9; Revelation 21:3-5; John 3:16; Romans 3:23).
