Powering UP with Worship

Passage: Matthew 4:10
Service Type:

Bible Text: Matthew 4:10 | Preacher: Pastor Steve | Series: Mighty in His Power
Worship is GIVING not just GETTING.
Worship: the human soul bowing down before the Lord our God in adoration, affection, love, thanksgiving, reflection, glory and honor of Him alone.
Matthew 4:10 Get out of here, Satan, Jesus told him. For the Scriptures say, you must worship the Lord your God; serve only him.
A POWERFUL Gateway to the Lord is through our Worship
We have a personal duty, devotion and obligation to love and worship HIM alone!
John 4:23-24 But the time is coming and is already here when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for anyone who will worship him that way.  For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.
John 6:40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
Worship is a process, release of HIS power and presence.
The focus of worship is Jesus, His life, death, resurrection.
The goal of worship is to become centered on the Lord.
We develop a worship life-style everyday; not just Sunday.
The Lord is with us in the battle(s):
Isaiah 41:10-13 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand…those who war against you shall be as nothing, As a nonexistent thing.  For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, Fear not, I will help you.
We often battle to live in the present rather than the past or future.
Present: Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Past: 1 Corinthians 10:11 All these events happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us, who live at the time when this age is drawing to a close.
Future: Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Never give up on God because God never gives up on us!
Psalm 27:13-14 I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.
God battles for us by delivering us out of or by working us through things, situations, or events.
Deliverance: Mark 9:25-26 …He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!
Discipline: 1 Corinthians 9:25-27 …Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection…
We ALWAYS Overcome by the Power of the Holy Spirit.
John 14:15-17 If you love me obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world at large cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you do, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.
The Holy Spirit Transforms US!
Romans 12:1-2 …Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think…
God is Blessed by our WORSHIP.
Psalm 103:1-5 (THE MESSAGE) O my soul, bless GOD. From head to toe, I’ll bless his holy name! O my soul bless GOD don’t forget a single blessing!
He forgives your sins — every one.
He heals your diseases — every one.
He redeems you from hell — saves your life!
He crowns you with love and mercy — a paradise crown.
He wraps you in goodness — beauty eternal.
He renews your youth —you’re always young in his presence.
Worship is a life support for believers.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
There is no miracle like the miracle of a changed life!
