Passage: 1 Chronicles 16
Service Type:

Bible Text: 1 Chronicles 16 | Preacher: Pastor Steve | Series: Mighty in His Power
Remembering our past successes helps us recover our confidence and hope for what we are dealing with today!
Revelation 2:4-5 But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first! Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first.
Our worship of the Lord (together) is what makes us the AMAZING people of God in the midst of STRUGGLE and DARKNESS and CONFLICT.
1 Chronicles 16:1-2 Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds. Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the Lord.
Our worship serves as a celebration of what the Lord has done and is doing and will do!
1 Chronicles 16:8-9 Make known among the nations what he has done. Tell of all his wonderful acts (Psalm 105:1-15);
1 Chronicles 16:12 Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced (Psalm 105:1-15).
WONDERS: HE IS THE GOD OF WONDERS!
MIRACLES: HE IS THE GOD OF MIRACLES!
JUDGMENTS: HE IS THE GOD OF JUDGMENT!
We are people who have decided to live GODLY HOLY lives, and who LIVE for God making HIM OUR PRIORITY.
1 Chronicles 16:10-11 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always
Our worshiping together serves as a reminder of God’s love, hope and grace.
He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth. He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations, the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.
HE IS with us ALWAYS!
We are reminded in WORSHIP to love, honor, and obey HIM because HE loved us FIRST, and to be FAITHFUL to our Lord because He is FAITHFUL to us!
1 Chronicles 16:19-22 When they were but few in number, few indeed, and strangers in it, they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another. He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings: Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.
Our worship serves as a powerful testimony of WHO the Lord is in our lives!
1 Chronicles 16:8 Make known among the nations what he has done.
Yahweh (Elohim) the God of Israel, the God of Scripture, and the Lord Almighty is the one and only true God.
Psalm 96:4-5 He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.
Nature itself resounds with the glory of God.
Psalm 96:31-33 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, The Lord reigns! Let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them! Let the trees of the forest sing; let them sing for joy before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth.
