Our Transformation
Bible Text: Colossians 3:8-10 | Preacher: Pastor Steve | Series: That They May Know…Christ
Colossians 3:8-10 But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. Don’t lie to each other…
Colossians 3:5-10 (THE MESSAGE) And that means killing off everything connected with that way of death…It wasn’t long ago that you were doing all that stuff and not knowing any better. But you know better now, so make sure it’s all gone for good: bad temper, irritability, meanness, profanity, dirty talk. Don’t lie to one another. You’re done with that old life. It’s like a filthy set of ill-fitting clothes you’ve stripped off and put in the fire. Now you’re dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it. All the old fashions are now obsolete.

Colossians 3:9 Do not lie to one another…
Because Jesus Christ is “the truth” (John 14:6), believers ought to practice truth in all areas of life. Lying destroys trust. It tears down relationships Believers should not exaggerate, pass on rumors or gossip, or say things to build up their own image at others’ expense.
New life In Christ Overcomes And Transforms!
Genesis 32:22-28 …this left Jacob all alone in the camp, and a man came and wrestled with him until the dawn began to break. When the man saw that he would not win the match, he touched Jacob’s hip and wrenched it out of its socket. Then the man said, let me go, for the dawn is breaking! But Jacob said, I will not let you go unless you bless me. What is your name? the man asked. He replied, Jacob. Your name will no longer be Jacob, the man told him. From now on you will be called Israel, because you have fought with God and with men and have won.
A TRANSFORMED PERSON Rises From The TOUCH Of The Lord
God touches us and we are changed!!
The Lord God comes to REDEEM, RESTORE and REFRESH us
Our destiny is NOT in our hands but in the hands of God. We are destined for great things as purposed by God.
Wrestling with God results in bearing HIS MARK
God Comes Into Our Lives And “Touches” Us In The Area Of Our Lives Where We Find Our Identity
If our identity is not found in God then He touches us in order to transform us.
The Lord comes to “cripple” any false identity so we can find our true identity in HIM ALONE!
God Desires To “Mark Us” And “Transform Us”
We have been called to turn the world upside down
To be transformed so we can be part of the transformation of the world
