Bible Text: 1 Samuel 29 | Preacher: Pastor Steve | Series: David: Committed Living
Ziklag: this is the place of compromise, weakness, defeat, humility, lukewarmness…
Revelation 3:16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
I know you inside and out…You’re not cold, you’re not hot — far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit. You brag…I’ve got it made, I need nothing from anyone…[The Message]
1 Samuel 29:1-3 …the lords of the Philistines passed in review by hundreds and by thousands, but David and his men passed in review at the rear with Achish. Then the princes of the Philistines said, What are these Hebrews doing here?
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
…Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? …
Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty.
The sins of lust, greed, cheating, etc., have taken their thousands, but the sins of gossip, negative talk, backstabbing, idle, useless talk and rumors have claimed their ten-thousands…
Leviticus 19:19 …You shall not let your livestock breed with another kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed. Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you
Do Not Be Unequally Yoked

…What communion has light with darkness…?
Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other…
1 Samuel 29:4-5 But the princes of the Philistines were angry with him; so the princes of the Philistines said to him, Make this fellow return…and do not let him go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he become our adversary.
…For with what could he reconcile himself to his master, if not with the heads of these men?
…Is this not David, of whom they sang to one another in dances, saying: Saul has slain his thousands, And David his ten thousands?
1 Samuel 29:6-8
