Our #1 Priority: Sharing Jesus

Pastor:
Passage: John 4
Service Type:

Bible Text: John 4 | Preacher: Pastor Steve | Series: Mighty in His Power
Intermittent Attendance
Regular attendance is defined as “I get there when I can.”
Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the                  Day approaching.
God is speaking to us as a church:
…persevere and attack the darkness,
…be a lampstand church; be a lighthouse.
The KEY to successfully SHARING Jesus Christ is to rely on the POWER of the Holy Spirit, expecting results from God.
Acts 1:8 You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.
John 4:3-8
Learning to not live by our feelings
Sharing the Lord as a normal part of our life;
Bringing Jesus into everything of our life.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
John 4:7-8 Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, Please give me a drink. He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food.
Turn real life situations into teachable moments.
Keep it simple and straightforward when sharing the Lord.
John 4:9-12
Jesus gave her HOPE rather than condemnation.
The Holy Spirit will give you the words…
Exodus 4:11-12 Then the Lord asked Moses, Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.
Acts 4:8-13 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them…The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures.
Mark 13:11
If we are NOT living IT, why should anyone BELIEVE in IT!!
John 4:13-18
Never give up on people; even if they seem to miss it. As long there is breath, there is hope!
Ecclesiastes 9:4 There is hope only for the living!
John 4:19‑24
Stay on topic. Jesus was not distracted.
John 4:23-24 But the time is coming, indeed it’s here now when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.
In spirit: the inner being: the God-breathed spirit in us
In truth: genuineness and honesty and integrity
If we are not worshiping “in spirit,” and “in truth,” then our worship will be dry and lifeless.
JESUS IS THE MESSIAH!
John 4:25‑26 The woman said, I know the Messiah is coming the one who is called Christ.
When he comes, he will explain everything to us.
Then Jesus told her, I AM the Messiah!
