Love – Peace – Thankfulness
Bible Text: Colossians 3 | Preacher: Pastor Steve | Series: That They May Know…Christ
Colossians 3:14-15 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
PUT ON LOVE
Let the PEACE OF GOD RULE

Put JESUS At The CENTER Of Our Circumstances
Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Past: 1 Corinthians 10:11 All these events happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us, who live at the time when this age is drawing to a close.
Present: Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Future: Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Anxiety
Distracted, divided in mind or drawn mentally in different directions.
PUSH through the anxiety or PRAY through the anxiety
SHALOM Rather Than Anxiety
Isaiah 11:6-10 In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard and the goat will be at peace. Calves and yearlings will be safe among lions, and a little child will lead them all. The cattle will graze among bears. Cubs and calves will lie down together. And lions will eat grass as the livestock do. Babies will crawl safely among poisonous snakes. Yes, a little child will put its hand in a nest of deadly snakes and pull it out unharmed. Nothing will hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain…
God In The Center…
Psalm 22:3 But You are holy, ENTHRONED in the praises of Israel
…so we are able to LIVE in/with the PEACE of God
Luke 7:36-50 One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to come to his home for a meal, so Jesus accepted the invitation and sat down to eat. A certain immoral woman heard he was there and brought a beautiful jar filled with expensive perfume. Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing his feet and putting perfume on them.
When the Pharisee who was the host saw what was happening and who the woman was, he said to himself, this proves that Jesus is no prophet. If God had really sent him, he would know what kind of woman is touching him. She’s a sinner…I tell you, her sins — and they are many — have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love. Then Jesus said to the woman, your sins are forgiven. The men at the table said among themselves, who does this man think he is, going around forgiving sins? And Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
Thankfulness
An attitude of thankfulness and gratitude in our hearts for all that God has done
