Easter is the Lamb of God

Passage: Luke 19
Service Type:

Bible Text: Luke 19 | Preacher: Pastor Steve | Series: Transformed Living
Luke 19:28-40 As he rode along, the crowds spread out their garments on the road ahead of him. When they reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen.
Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven! But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that! He replied, If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!  But as they came closer to Jerusalem and Jesus saw the city ahead, he began to weep.
We are accountable for the way we use our time (schedules), talents (abilities), and treasures (money).
We will be judged by the Lord IN HOW we give (attitudes) and TO WHAT we give.
Jesus Turns Towards Jerusalem
Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey riding on a donkey’s colt.
Jesus is OUR KING!
Matthew 21:8-11 And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: Hosanna to the Son of David Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!  Hosanna in the highest!
Jesus is OUR SAVIOR!
Luke 19:41-44 But as they came closer to Jerusalem and Jesus saw the city ahead, he began to cry. I wish that even today you would find the way of peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from you. Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you.  They will crush you to the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you have rejected the opportunity God offered you.
Jesus is OUR PEACE!
Zechariah 9:9-10 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey. I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the horse from Jerusalem; the battle bow shall be cut off. He shall speak peace to the nations; His dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.
Luke 13:34-35 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!  See! Your house is left to you desolate; and assuredly, I say to you, you shall not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!
Luke 12:50-53 Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other! From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against or two in favor and three against. Father will be divided against son and son against father; mother against daughter and daughter against mother; and mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.
John 14:27-28 I am leaving you with a gift peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
Ephesians 2:14 For Christ himself has brought peace to us.
Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Luke 19:45-46 Then Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices. He said to them, The Scriptures declare, My Temple will be a house of prayer, but you have turned it into a den of thieves.
